Garuda warriors walk with pride

Indonesian national team (Garuda) has officially disbanded after their task in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 is finished. The players had returned to their each clubs. Completed the fights at AFF Suzuki Cup 2010, all players remain proud of the achievements that have been through. During the match at AFF Cup 2010, Garuda showed the fantastic football and still entertaining, they also had been trying to give the best results.

Garuda also made public apology for failing to present the AFF Cup Title for the first time. Indonesia’s performance during the AFF Cup is the best example of the mysteries of football. Won six times and only lost once, Bambang Pamungkas and friends must forget the champion title. Now all players had been returned to their clubs each, and there are only 5 players are being prepared for the SEA Games 2011 and the Pre-Olympic Games. They are Johan Juansyah, Irfan Bachdim, Oktovianus Maniani, Yongki Ariwibowo, and Kurnia Meiga. However, they must follow the selection again to be held on January 6, 2011. The team is prepared to attend both events will be handled by Alfred Riedl. As for the Senior National Team will be scheduled in May 2011 which is prepared to attend the World Cup 2014 Qualification which will be held in Brazil.

Garuda is the champion without a crown!

AFF Cup 2010 had been taken by Malaysia, but Indonesia recorded the best performance among all teams participated throughout the tournament. That record can be proud of by Garuda compared to Malaysia. Since the preliminary round through the finals, Indonesia has won six matches and was defeated once. Garuda also managed to make 17 goals and 6 conceded. Meanwhile, Malaysia managed to achieve 3 wins, 2 draws, and 2 defeats. They also made 12 goals and 8 conceded. The results that was achieved by Garuda is the best.

Malaysia get the champions title, but about the best performance is belongs to Indonesia. Malaysia capitalized won 3-0 at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. And Garuda was only able to respond with 2-1 win at GBK, Jakarta.

Garuda Di Dadaku…Garuda Kebanggaanku :: Garuda Is on My Chest…Garuda Is My Pride

Garuda win the second leg AFF Suzuki Cup Final 2010, but Malaysia goes AFF Suzuki Cup Champions!

Last night, Garuda managed to achieve victory over Malaysia with a score of 2-1. However, the results were still not enough to bring AFF Cup for the first time to Indonesia. Witnessed by more than 80.000 loyal fans, including President Susilo Bambang Yuhoyono, Garuda was trying to appear full-attack when Malaysia implemented the total-defense tactics to survive the victory in the first leg by simply placing Muhammad Safee Salli in front. Although Garuda got a golden opportunity to score the first goal via penalty spot, but Firman Utina failed to score a goal after Khairul Fahmi managed to read the direction of the ball’s speed at minute 18’.

After playing a draw in the first half, Muhammad Safee Salli succeeded to silence the Garuda fans at the GBK, after goaled to the Markus post at minute 53. Surge of enthusiasm from the Garuda fans also seemed never to recedes even Garuda was even farther behind Malaysia. In the end, shooting from M. Nasuha managed a goal on minutes 72’ after utilized the advantage of Bustomi’s shot which successfully was thwarted by Malaysian goalkeeper, Khairul Fahmi. The second goal was re-created after Muhammad Ridwan successfully fired the ball from inside the penalty box.

Sporadic attacks still carried by Garuda warriors, until the game was over after referee, Peter Daniel Green, blew the long whistle. Garuda had managed to win the second round match, but the Malaysian players who cheered in the middle of the GBK field.

Previously, after 3 times playing in final match, Garuda extended the record failed to become champion after successfully entered the final. At the AFF Cup 2000 Final (formerly was Tiger Cup), Garuda was defeated by Thailand with a score of 1-4 at Rajamanggala Stadium, Bangkok. Furthermore, Garuda had a second chance to become the champion in the AFF Cup 2002 Final that was held at the GBK Stadium, Jakarta. However, Garuda re-submit the champion to Thailand on penalties shot-out with the score 4-2, after 2-2 draw. The third occasion was back there in AFF Cup 2004 Final. This time, Garuda should defeated Singapore if Garuda want to come out as champion. But back again, Garuda must swallow another bitter pill after lose to Singapore by 5-2 aggregate. At the first leg, Indonesia was beaten 1-3 by Singapore. And the second leg was belongs to Singapore after beat Garuda 2-1.

Fourth runner-up title at the AFF Cup Garuda achieved. Maybe it still needs a few more years for Garuda to become AFF Cup Champions for the first time. Regardless of the outcome result, Garuda will always remain on my chest. I’m so proud of what Garuda has been through so far.

Once again, mathematics can’t be harmonized in football at the moment. Indonesia lost only once along the tournament but failed to become champion. While Malaysia suffered was defeated twice and come out as AFF Cup Champion.

Congratulations for Malaysia! Great football has been shown to us!

It is time to everybody prepares their each power to fight again in AFF Cup 2012.

Garuda's New Nest

There are still many don’t know the existence of Palaran Main Stadium located in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. Over 50.000 spectators was completed in May 2008 and inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on June 18, 2008. Palaran Main Stadium was directly used for the opening of National Sports Week (PON) on July 5, 2008 and its closure on July 17, 2008. In addition, the Stadium was also appointed by the PSSI to held a Final Round of Main Divison from Indonesian League 2008. Now days, Palaran Main Stadium is the base of Persisam Samarinda FC in attending Indonesian Super League.

Palaran Main Stadium will be one nest of Garuda against his opponents later.

That stadium has a very unique design, which forms the two meet of chakra and tapered at the edges. One more features of this stadium is 100% of the stands using a chair.

First Terror Came from A Traffic Jam in Jakarta

The Psy-War between Indonesia against Malaysia towards the AFF Final Cup 2010 has begun, with the various statements of each coach and Malaysian players state that they aren’t afraid of the Indonesian supporters and daring to play again in GBK, had been answered by the traffic jam in Jakarta.

At First, Malaysia national team should receive training at the GBK on a day before the game. However, for GBK is being prepared reason, Malaysia can’t practice inside GBK. Malaysia was also offered to use the Field C in Senayan which usually becomes a place for Garuda to practice. They rejected it  because it is an outdoor field and can threaten the safety of the players and they didn’t want their game tactics will be viewed by many people.

After that there is another offer for Malaysia to practice at the Lebak Bulus Stadium. Malaysia agreed it. But when was on the way there, they stuck in extra-ordinary traffic and then finally Malaysia decided to return to the hotel because also it was already late afternoon. Malaysia finally doing the exercises around the hotel area, later heavy rain flushed Jakarta directly.

Fortunately, Jakarta is also a big fan of Garuda who are willing to provide ‘terror and intimidation’ to the opponent for mentally down before the match begin. Let’s unit the spirit and support for calling the victory of Garuda. The weather and Jakarta has also to start early.

Smashed the myth of losing tradition in the Final of AFF Cup

In the last three of AFF Cup Finals, there are statistics that say the team which lost the first leg Final can never be a champion. Include in the final of AFF Cup 2004, when Garuda was subdued to Singapore in the 1st leg Final by the score 1-3 in GBK, Senayan. Then the second leg final in Singapore, Garuda was again defeated by a score of 2-1. Then Singapore was the champion for AFF Cup 2004.
Meanwhile, in the next edition of the AFF Cup Final 2007, Singapore became champion again by conquered Thailand with aggregate 3-2. The first leg final match, Singapore beat Thailand by 2-1 in Singapore. While the second leg final match was held in Thailand with a score as strong 1-1.
The next year, AFF Cup Final 2008 still showed the same tradition. The Vietnamese managed to come out as champion by defeating previous finalist, Thailand. The total aggregate score is 3-2 to Vietnam winning.  In the first match, Vietnam beat Thailand 2-1 when Thailand was as the host. Then, the second match Vietnam confirmed the AFF Cup 2008 Winners with Thailand holding by 1-1.
It seems that the AFF Cup Final tradition is very strong. Look back at Garuda that had been defeated to Malaysia with a landslide score 3-0. Even if Garuda could provide resistance in the second leg match, it will be very difficult to reach even more figure 3-0. Malaysia will not simply hand over the victory that has been achieved with a great difficulty there.
Irfan Bachdim-17 says that, “Winners never quit’. Bambang Pamungkas-20 also gave encouragement to his colleagues. In his personal website, BP20 convey there is still a chance of 90 minutes in Jakarta and Garuda can still win.
Perhaps the victor can be achieved, but was there any point of champion if the score in second leg was 1-0, or 2-0, or 2-1, or even 3-2. With a condition like that, although Garuda win the game but it can’t change the existing final tradition. Then the tradition will become stronger to say that the team which lost in the first leg will fail come out as champions again.
Come on Garuda! Tradition is not something that should stand for granted. With a burning passion and a fantastic play, it is not impossible to bring home the AFF trophy while Garuda giving a result of a new tradition.

Football madness, laser badness

Supporters to love a favorite team may have changed them to be insane. Good support at home matches, or even thousands of miles in the away-match may be taken with joy and voluntarily.
Many people argue that the love of the team exceeds the love of his girlfriend is crazy. Leaving work to provide support for his favorite team is also crazy. Selling your beloved watch and car is too much crazy. But from a group of crazy people that is a fantastic team spirit and incredible energy got inside.
Terror and intimidation by supporters of the host has become a must-to-do-thing to bring down the mental of your opponent. Clamor, clap of hands, wasp drums, blowing horns, and even all kinds of dance often exhibited by supporters to burn the home-team spirit and mental dropped from the away-team.
But among all the support and intimidation, there is an effort that seemed not-proper with sportsmanship. Laser emits directly into the face of, or even the eye, to distract the player is an attempt to injure players. Imagine if the players who are the victims of it, then become disabled or blind so that threatens his career of playing football.
Let us mobilize enthusiasm and support for each team in an appropriate way and good sportsmanship.

At least, for the affairs of flag-waving, supporters of Indonesia is the winner

A unique incident and an ‘amazing eye’ occurs when the First-Leg Final Match of Suzuki Cup 2010 at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil.
At the time the match was held, the Malaysian supporters were very enthusiastic in giving support. Included, they flew the flag among the crowd of the supporters. Whether unintentional or accidental occurs, the flag, Jalur Gemilang, was flown upside down and was not conscious by Malaysia’s supporters there.
Somehow the story, the Malaysian national flag even lie upside down. As a result the Moon and the Sun symbol on the flag were also reversed. Even so, supporters of Malaysia’s provided their best support the national team reap positive results. Malaysia beat Indonesia in the First-Leg Final Match with 3-0 score. The second-leg match will be held in Jakarta, on 29th of December 2010.
Will be there a statement that the flying upside down was flown by supporter of Indonesia? Hopefully the Red and White Flag will not be claimed by Malaysia.

Riedl gave high appreciation to the supporters of Indonesia.

Very high enthusiasm is still given by the Garuda’s supporter although Garuda defeat to Malaysia with the score 0-3 in the First-Leg Final AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 in Bukit Jalil. During the return to homeland, Garuda received so much supports from the loyal supporters from Garuda’s arrival at HPK Airport, then when the time of entering Hotel Sultan, and last time thousands of supporters continue gave their full support to the team that they really love when Garuda was practicing.
Although the team considered to be had very small chance of catching up 0-3 score, but the fans were still provide full support for spirit-rise of the Garuda warriors.
It is incredible! I am amazed with the Indonesian National Team supporters. They keep coming to support greatly, although we currently in a position behind 3 goals” said Riedl.
With the support of such a large, Riedl was sure that Garuda will be able to pursue victory in the Second-Leg Final at Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan.
Offensive tactics will be demonstrated by Garuda, their vision is to score goal in advance to add more fighting spirit to reach win and it is not impossible that Garuda can win the AFF Cup for the first time since 1996 it was held for the first time.
May the spirit as well as support provided by Garuda supporters will be able to add ammunition and mental strength for Garuda warriors to play and give a great result!

This player will not be able to fight with the other Garuda warriors because he is in Belgian National Team already.

Radja Nainggolan was born at 4th of May 1988 in Antwerp, Belgium. His father is Marius Nainggolan (Indonesian) and his mother is Lizi Bogaerd (Belgian). Now, Radja is playing with Cagliari in Serie A, Italy, on loan from Serie B Priacenza. Radja play as well as midfielder. He earned his first International Cap on 29th of May 2009, when he played against Chile in Kirin Cup.

During 2007-2010, Radja had 69 appearances and 4 goals with Piacenza. This 2010/2011 half-season, Radja has 15 appearances and 1 goal with Cagliari in Serie A, Italy. Cagliari coach gave him an appreciation and said that Radja would be a better midfielder in coming years

Unfortunately, he plays with the other National Team. If only, he can play with Garuda. I believe Indonesia can go through and speaks a lot in more competition and football challenges.

Back to sharpening the claws and strengthen the beak!

The story of Garuda was flying high did not last much longer. After going through nine matches, by winning eight consecutive wins, apparently the story-episode can’t be forwarded in Bukit Jalil. The 8-victory in a-straight-gained helped Garuda put himself in the order of 127 FIFA Ranking position. Having previously located at position 135 in November 2010, Garuda succeeded in 8 ranking-rose in December 2010.
It is like the Indonesian ancient proverb, “The Higher The Flight, The More It Will Hurt When It Fell”. However, this is not visible on Garuda’s current condition. Once after got hit by Malayan Tiger in their own-cage in Malaysia, Garuda do some trains and practices directly this afternoon at the Field C, Senayan. The determination to achieve victory on the 2nd leg was held together by all of the Garuda warriors.
Without forgiveness and compassion, Garuda will again show its miracle in front of their loyal supporters. Although Malayan Tiger has put one-hand at the Cup, hopefully Garuda can beat them with the score better than 5-1, not just only 3-0. So, Garuda can gripped the Cup for the first time.

The Indonesia-Malaysia Third-Match in AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 is about to begin!

Garuda squad has arrived today, at 11:00 AM, on Monday 27th of December 2010 at Halim Perdana Kusumah Airport. Seen some sympathetic supporters give their best-support although Garuda got defeat in the 1st Leg Final in Bukit Jalil, National Stadium. The supporters were banned from approaching, and all the Garuda warriors guarded by security officials.
From HPK Airport, they continue the trip to Hotel Sultan straightly. There was no single player who could be interviewed. They immediately went into each room that has been provided. Meanwhile, about 150 supporters still continue to sing the song of “Garuda Di Dadaku” and yell some encouragement. Meanwhile, Malaysian National Team was scheduled to arrive in Indonesia today. The plane departed from KLIA Airport, Kuala Lumpur and it will land at Soekarna-Hatta Airport, Jakarta.
Garuda still have a chance to win AFF for the first time if Garuda can beat the Harimau Malaya with more than 3 strikes without any reply.
“On the second leg, we should be able to fix all the mistakes that happened in Malaysia, yesterday. We have to win and score more than 3 goals!”, said Wolfgang Pikal.
All right, 29th of December 2010 will be the time to Garuda stabs the Harimau’s Heart meanly by more than third times! Don’t give them any chance to show their paw!

Young Garuda received contract to Club Atletico Penarol (Uruguay)

As if to learn from Christian Gonzalez to be a great player, two young Garuda signed with Club Atletico Penarol to play in Uruguayan League. Reffa Money (U-19 Captain) and Syamsir Alam (Striker) get a chance to hone their abilities on the country of Gonzalez birth.
At noon on Tuesday 14th of September 2010, Penarol signed a cooperation agreement with Indonesia Football SAD, a club affiliated to the Football Federation of Indonesia. For Penarol attended the signing, Vice President Edward Welker and the sports manager of the institution, Osvaldo Gimenez.

Garuda Wings broken at Bukit Jalil

When I made this blog, Garuda collapsed in the cage of Malayan Tigers last night. I received a very crushing punch after 90 minutes game-played in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia. The score board showed 3-0, the Final Leg-1 belonged to the Home’s Supporter. Some people who watched the game with me were silent. Suddenly, all movement that entertain, delight, stepping, clapping, shouting support, and the noise were turned into a bleak and ominous atmosphere.
Nothing could change my vision that Garuda was really beaten. The spectators also were leaving when there was still 10 minutes to play. Mohd Safee Sali (2 goals) and Mohd Ashari (1 goal) sent most of Garuda spectators out of the Stadium, there were only a quarters loyal-spec to watch the game until referee blew the whistle.
Some may say, The Garuda Warriors were already exhausted with the non-technical things that came from the politician agenda, the exclusive-media blew up, and finally the Green-Laser. But on my mind whatever people are saying, Garuda still had to raise their confidence.
There was always a ‘black-sheep’ behind the unsatisfactory results. A different stage will hold a different battle. This time, Garuda has broken-wings. Three-hit stroke directly to the heart, and the 2nd Leg will be harder because Garuda will fight Harimau Malaya without Okto Maniani-10 (Garuda left wing) and Hamka Hamzah-23 (Garuda’s shield).
Don’t be soluble in the away-atmosphere, let’s focus on our cage! Unify the spirit and unify the support for Garuda!
“Is there some 90-minutes longer, friend? Stay spirit!”, said Bambang Pamungkas-20.
“Let’s forget yesterday, and do the best in Jakarta”, said Irfan Bachdim-17.
We should inflame the slogan “INI KANDANG KITA! :: THIS IS OUR GROUND!”. It seemed very appropriate sentence to raised the spirit and avenge the defeat-result yesterday.
After all, the result in Gelora Bung Karno on Wednesday, 29th of December 2010 will provide a new champion! That will be sign of equal strength in South-East Asia for football challenge.
So, whatever it takes! Garuda still on my chest, mate!
