AFC Asian Cup 2011 : Saudia Arabia was defeated to Suriah, Jordan holded Blue Samurai

A stunning performance showed by Syiria after defeated Saudi Arabia by 2-1. Both teams played in Ahmed bin Ali Stadium. Syiria made goal first in minutes 37', Abdel Razaq Al-Husein wrote his name on the score board. The finalist of Asian Cup 2007 could only make one goal by Taisser al-Jasim in minutes 60'. But the score was holded only for 3 minutes, Abdel Razaq Al-Husein scored one more goal in minutes 63' and brought Syiria win over the 81st rank of FIFA (5th of AFC). Syiria now is leading the Group B.

This result was direclty responsed by the Saudi Arabia Football Federation. They sacked Jose Peseiro as head coach and Nasser Al-Johar was pointed to be the successor (confirmed by Reuters).

Al-Johar also re-took the head coach position in Asian Cup 2000, after Saudi Arabia was defeated 1-4 by Japan. This is the second failures of Jose Peseiro after failed to bring Saudi Arabia through FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa. It was the first since FIFA World Cup 1990, Saudi Arabia participated in FIFA World Cup 1994, 1998, 2002, and 2006.

In otherwise, Blue Samurai was near to lose their points at all. Japan is the 2nd rank of Asia (29th of FIFA), they were blasted by the Jordan's player, Hasan Abdel Mahmoud, goal in minutes 43'. Then Maya Yoshida scored one goal in injury time to brought one point for Japan. Jordan is in 104th rank of FIFA.

Next match in Group B, Japan will match Syiria and Saudi Arabia against Jordan in January 13, 2011.
