Riedl wasn't satisfied with 3 players from overseas

The first group selection for Indonesia National Team U-23 were involved by three players who playing in overseas. They are Andrea Bitar (Cannes, France), James Zaidan Saragih (New York Metro Star, USA) and Arthur Itawan (Lytham Town, England). After 3 days selection progress were done, Alfred Riedl has the short list for some players who may be through to the next selection.

Unfortunately, the three descent players didn't make Alfred Riedl satisfied to their performances. Alfred said they are too young and still need more experience. With the ages around 17's to 18's, they still can gain more experience and develop their abilities.

"A lot of local players are good here. If there are not such a big differentiation between overseas and local skills also abilities, I prefer to choose they are who have alot of experience in senior competition. For the overseas descent players maybe they will have another chance in a next few years", said Riedl.

Alfred and other coaches will begin to select some players from the second group of National Team U-23 Selection on January 10, 2011.

All of players that selected by Alfred will be announced on January 17, 2011. This team will be prepared to participate the Pre-Olympic 2012 and SEA Games 2011.

  1. There're still other players from overseas : Stefano Lilipaly, Marc van der Mareel, and Oliver Rifai. They had been in Dutch U-15 and U-17.
