After reached the semi-finals in AFF Suzuki Cup 2010, Philippine points Hans Michael Weiss to become the head coach of the Azkals. Philippine is going to participate in SEA Games 2011, since their last appearances in SEA Games 2005. The courage to build stronger squad is getting huge. The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) officially don't offer a new contract to Simon McMenemy. They give the contract to the person who are believed has strong capacity and good ability to build the squad to face SEA Games 2011.
"Simon is undergoing to get UEFA coaching license. Otherwise, DBF (Germany Football Federation) offers us a perfect coach with good quality to handle Philippine's preparation to continue running well in compete with the other SEA Nations", said Dan Palami in AFF official sites.
The DBF gives the offers to Philippine after saw the Azkals performance in AFF Cup 2010 tournament. DBF said that Neil Etheridge and the others have the promising performance.
"Weiss has alot of experiences and also has an UEFA coaching license. I hope this will begin the new era of the Azkals', mentioned Palami.
Some of Philippine U-23 squad who played in AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 will have a training camp in Germany. The goalkeeper, Neil Etheridge, Jason de Jong, Manny Oth, Mark Drinkuth, and the star of University of Santo Thomas, David Basa, will become the first squad for SEA Games 2011. For sure, this training camp will also select some descent Philippine players to join the SEA Games squad.
"DBF helps us without any compensation. So, we will not miss this good opportunities to develop our football and make us stronger", said Dan Palami.
