Alfred Riedl will give training to Garuda U-23 in Austria

The Garuda U-23 that is being prepared to follow the SEA Games 2011, it will undergo the training camp in Austria as an effort in realizing the target of the Gold Medal in SEA Games 2011. The General Secretary of PSSI, Nugraha Besoes said it has pocketed 80 names that will be incorporated into the U-23 squad. Three of 80th players that has already confirmed are the core team, namely Irfan Bachdim, Yongki Ariwibowo, and Oktovianus Maniani. All three players had a retainer in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 with the senior team.

These 80 players will undergo selection at the beginning of this month to select the squad to face Pre-Olympic qualifying in mid-February. After undergoing the game, the players selected to undergo further training camp in Austria in April and May. Austria is the homeland of the national team coach, Alfred Riedl. Hopefully, the team had the opportunity to face a decent team in the country.

Meanwhile, Garuda U-23 manager Adjie Massaid said that plans to send Garuda U-23 to Austria as an effort to enhance individual techniques, team work and strategy to compete.

“In my opinion, to form Garuda U-23, we must implement long-term training. The selected players are not allowed to strengthen the club in Indonesian Super League. This is one of the best steps for us to do well at the SEA Games later”, said Adjie.
