The Indonesian U-23 coach, Alfred Riedl, is satisfied with the quality of the players from the first group who are following the selection. This team is being prepared to compete in the Pre-Olympic Games 2012 and SEA Games 2011. The selection is held in the PSSI training field, Senayan.
Acording to Riedl, a number of players have shown greatability. The players have tried hard and demonstrated the ability to get attetionon from the coaches and scout talents.
“There are some good players, and some are still not good. I will choose only the best players and the rest will be restored. I don’t care whether they are local players or descent. I’ll announce the result in next two days”, said Riedl.
The same selection and training methods will be applied to U-23 national team. If players are not disciplined during their training, it will be dropped from the squad.
“I just want to have the best players, both local and foreign who planned to be naturalized. What we need are disciplined players”, mentioned Riedl.
Also, Riedl said that he would not change the staff for the U-23 national team. In fact, Riedl wants to add one coaching staff to take cares the players’ mentality. According to Riedl, the psychology coach is needed to. Therefore, the pressure will be higher after Indonesia ranks second at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010.
